Indian Summer...Outdoor Weddings are Out

We are about at the end of the “outdoor” wedding season. November generally is too cold in Indiana to hold nuptials in a natural setting. Do not be fooled by “Indian Summer” as it is short-lived and unpredictable.

How can you have the outdoor feeling inside? A wedding ceremony at an alternate location (from a church) affords you a lot of creativity. Backdrops and lighting are helpful as well as floral additions and usage of color.

A wide variety of rental items are available locally at places like A Party Apart, All Occasions Rental, and Bob Mutton Party Rental. As long as your ceremony area is a focal point and that all guests can see, you are only limited by your venue location restrictions.

The ceremony area would be a lovely backdrop then for the head table or sweetheart table during dinner. Just make sure that your facility staff (or caterers or ushers) knows that is part of their responsibility after the ceremony.

As we are moving into the season, many venues are already decorating for the holidays. This is a cost effective way to add color to the ceremony area and limit your investment.

You still have a great deal of options that will create a ceremony area that offers beauty, warmth, and a pleasant experience. Opportunities are all around.

Happy planning!
